Define Success in Your Own Words

How do you answer these questions?

Let’s begin by simply asking yourself, “What success means to me?”What is success

Or you might need some famous quotations from successful people to help you give the meaning of your own success.

Here are my top ten favorite success quotes:

“Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.”–Winston Churchill

“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” –Maya Angelou

“Let no feeling of discouragement prey upon you, and in the end you are sure to succeed.” –Abraham Lincoln

“As long as you’re going to be thinking anyway, think big.” –Donald Trump

“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.” –Benjamin Franklin

Is Money Smart?

Why the government—and the banks—don't want you saving money

Like most people, you were probably told growing up that saving money was a smart financial decision. Our culture is filled with positive little sayings about saving money like, "A penny saved is a penny earned," "Rainy day fund," and "Another day, another dollar." Our culture is also filled with phrases like, "Broke the bank," "Cleaned out," and "Money burns a hole in his pocket."

The truth is that for a culture that seems to value saving money, we don't show it in our actions. According to Zero Hedge, the U.S. personal savings rate was around 2.6% going into 2013, down from a high of over 14% in the 1970's. It's not a coincidence that around the time the personal savings rate started declining was also the time that the U.S. dollar went from being on the gold standard to being a commodity.

Even our government doesn't save, as we all know well after the last couple weeks of government shut down and stalled talks on increasing the debt limit.

Yet, still our leaders pay lip service to saving money. In 2009, Obama said, "Even before this recession hit, the savings rate was essentially zero, while borrowing had risen and credit card debt had increased. More broadly, tens of millions of families have been, for a variety of reasons, unable to put away enough money for a secure retirement. ... We cannot continue on this course."

The Millionaire Mentality

is a state of mind that embraces a positive attitude, desire and commitment, and the courage and persistency to succeed.

The Millionaire Mentality® emphasizes that the making of money should not be your primary goal in life. Money or financial success will not buy happiness. It may, however, allow you the opportunity to do things that will bring you happiness and contentment, if you so choose.

You have to work for something that you believe in, something that you love, and success will follow. The Bible states "cast thy bread upon the waters and it will be returned to you seven fold." When you do good (because it is the right thing to do) you'll find peace in your heart, an uplifting spirit and a Millionaire Mentality®.

It has often been said that an individual works for fun or for profit. The truly happy individual works at something he genuinely enjoys. He has fun working and he makes a profit at it. A good example is the professional athlete who is paid to play sports. Getting paid for doing something you really enjoy would be the best. So, what is the answer?

The first step is to define your goal or objective. What would you really like to do if you could. Once you define your goal or objective, devote all your energy to it. You'll find that working will no longer be dull, boring or tedious, rather, it will be challenging, exciting and fun.

Assume you realize your goal. What makes a professional athlete a star commanding everyone's attention?
